This being the quadricentennial of the founding of America's most prominent settlement, the founding of Plymouth, we decided to take a family trip across America. But we went West to the Pacific rather than East. Two reasons, more scenery and less people/Covid problems.
Our route took us from Michigan through Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and finally northern California, where we have a little lodge in the sequoias of the Sierra Nevada range. Magnificent in a desolate sort of way, and we managed to follow Laura Ingalls' path.
