Above the mouth of Grasmere, Lake District, Chapter 1

On Saturday, we took the Loughrigg Terrace walk above Grasmere Lake and Rydal Water.

The sound of many waters there,
Was born upon a mountain air;
The silent sighing of the lakes
Upon the heights, unfurling brakes
From meres beneath these hoary fells
As though a memory an echo tells.

A general visual overview of the walk may be found here.

 Driving through Corbridge again...
 ...along Hexham - Haydon Bridge...
 ...Hexham - Bardon Mill...

 ...Brampton...
 ...A manor in the distance, near Carlisle - Warwick Bridge...
 ...Penrith - Penruddock...

 The fells... near Renrith - Troutbeck

 The walk opens up to Grasmere below, often voted the best view in the Lake District.
