Out West 2020: The Great Lakes Northwest

This being the quadricentennial of the founding of America's most prominent settlement, the founding of Plymouth, we decided to take a family trip across America. But we went West to the Pacific rather than East. Two reasons, more scenery and less people/Covid problems.

Our route took us from Michigan through Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and finally northern California, where we have a little lodge in the sequoias of the Sierra Nevada range. Magnificent in a desolate sort of way, and we managed to follow Laura Ingalls' path.

A Prince has Fallen

"Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?"

Words cannot begin to describe my feelings of loss at the passing of Dr. R. C. Sproul into glory. Like thousands of others, I first came to know the Reformed faith through the teachings of Sproul and can still remember the Sunday School lessons we had with his lecture videos in our dear church Westminster Presbyterian in Vincennes, Indiana. He ran his race faithfully and was, I believe, the greatest American reformer since Jonathan Edwards. Below is a little video of Sproul talking about his favorite subject, the Holiness of God; which holiness he now eternally endures with a reverent adoration, clothed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ. A prince is fallen in Israel.
